Alexander McQueen SS2012 ( styling )

Already on her third show carrying the Alexander McQueen label, Creative Director Sarah Burton has definitely been able to deliver that take-your-breath-away fashion runway feeling. But this S/S 2012, she added a little of that dark edge we’ve been missing back to the line.
The outfits, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship in a spectrum of nudes, corals, pinks, golds, and lilacs, were given dramatic shapes and contours. Embellished shoulders and molded jackets gave way to stiff peplums, while narrow skirts either flared and frilled at the knee, or dropped down to the floor in feathery drama. The materials were also a textural selection, including gathered light chiffon, lace sheaths juxtaposed with smooth, slick leather, and ample amounts of gradient beading, feathers, and embroidery.
